What's included
In the price
Layout system
How things sit on the page: margins, sizes and proportions.
Type scale
What size everything is and when each weight is used.
Use of colour
Not just which colours, but how much of each and in what situations.
Example templates
Applied to real pieces of yours so you can see it works.
What isn't
Quoted separately
Creating the identity
A system is built on an existing brand. If there isn't one, that comes first.
Producing the pieces
I define how they're made; making them one by one is another commission.
Long-term training
It includes one handover session, not months of hand-holding.
What you get
01
The system document
The rules explained, with examples of what works and what doesn't.
02
Editable templates
Ready for your team to produce without stepping outside the system.
03
Handover session
An hour to walk whoever will use it through the whole thing.
How we do it
- 01Week 1
Auditing what's there
I gather all your current material and find where the consistency breaks.
- 02Weeks 2 – 3
Setting the rules
I build the system: layout, typography, colour and their proportions.
- 03Weeks 4 – 5
Applying it
I take it to real pieces of yours to check it holds up in practice.
- 04Week 6
Delivery and handover
Document, templates and a session with your team.
Price and payments
The price is fixed before we start, with the scope in writing, and split into several payments along the way. If halfway through you want to add something unplanned, I quote it separately — it never turns up on the invoice as a surprise.
First payment
At the start
On accepting the quote
It books the dates in my calendar and gets the work going.
Second payment
Halfway
With the main part signed off
Once you've seen and approved the bulk of the work.
Final payment
On delivery
When it's finished
With everything done and checked by you.
Common questions
They're close, but the manual says how to use the logo and the system says how to build any new piece. The manual protects what exists; the system lets you grow.
If you produce little material, probably not. It pays off when several people make pieces and each one goes their own way.
No. What we sign is what you pay. If during the project you ask for something outside the scope, I tell you the cost first and you decide whether it goes in.
The dates get recalculated, at no extra cost. All I ask is that you tell me: I reserve the time in advance, so I can reorganise.
Does every piece of yours look like a different company?
Show me what you have and I'll tell you whether you need a system or just to tidy up what exists.
