What's included
In the price
Automatic daily copy
Of the whole site and its database, every day without exception.
Version history
You can go back to how the site was on earlier days. How far back is agreed when you sign up.
Stored off-site
The copies live outside the server. If the server burns down, the copy is still there.
Restores whenever you ask
If something breaks, I bring back the previous version at no extra cost.
What isn't
Quoted separately
Files on your computer
This covers the website, not your machines or your email.
Years of history
If you need very old versions kept, it can be done, but it's quoted separately.
Recovering what was never uploaded
Only what's on the server gets copied. What never got published doesn't exist.
What you get each month
01
Recoverable copies
A history ready to roll back to at any moment.
02
Restore testing
I check periodically that a copy really does restore. An untested backup is worth nothing.
03
Alerts if something fails
If a copy doesn't complete, I hear about it and sort it out.
How we start
- 01At the start
Setup
We decide what gets copied, how often and how much history we keep.
- 02First days
First copy and test
I take the initial copy and check that it restores properly.
- 03Ongoing
Automatic
From there it runs on its own, and I check that it keeps running.
How it's billed
You pay a fixed fee every month, always the same. No lock-in, no penalties and no surprises on the invoice.
Commitment
None
No lock-in
You can leave whenever you like, with reasonable notice. No penalty and no small print.
Yearly payment
Discount
If you pay for the year
Paying yearly up front works out cheaper than the monthly payments added up.
If you leave
100%
You take everything
A full copy of whatever there is, and help handing it over to whoever takes it on.
Common questions
Many do, but they usually keep only a few days and store them alongside the site. This is an independent copy, kept elsewhere and tested regularly.
Not long: it's a quick process from the moment you tell me. If it's urgent and happens out of hours, it still gets handled.
Yes, with reasonable notice and no penalty of any kind. I don't believe in tying anyone down with long contracts.
Whenever you like, in either direction. The change applies to the next invoice.
What would happen if your site vanished today?
If the answer unsettles you, let's talk. Setting up backups is quick and cheap compared with losing everything.
